HOW HOLOCAUST HEROINE RESCUED 2,500 CHILDREN

It started out as a National History Day project by four young women from Kansas. What it ended up is really a testament to their efforts - they have introduced us to a Polish heroine of the Holocaust, a woman who saved some 2,500 Jewish children from the Warsaw ghetto. It's a terrific story

Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson said the credit crisis has increased risks to the global economy. Secretary Paulson says the economy remains strong despite this.

LEDEEN: VICTORY IS AT HAND

Ed Morrissey has a post on an article by Michael Ledeen in the Wall Street Journal. Mr. Ledeen believes that not only have the Americans overpowered al-Qaeda in Iraq throughout the western provinces, the Iraqi Army and central government have established their will in Basra and the south. That is more good news for the United States.

MCCAIN: SANCHEZ'S CRITICISMS NEVER COMMUNICATED TO CONGRESS

Ed Morrissey of Captain's Quarters has the interview with John McCain. The Senator emphatically says when he met with General Sanchez and Ambassador Bremer five years ago in Baghdad, Sanchez defended the policy in effect at that time. Senator McCain also points out that Sanchez had plenty of opportunities to tell Congress of his concerns, but never once did. Sounds to me like Sanchez is interested in selling his book.
