CAPTAINS QUARTER AND THE WAR IN IRAQ

Captains Quarter has a superb post entitled "Another Democrat in Support of the Mission." It seems that Representative Brian Baird has come back from a visit to Iraq convinced that General Petraeus has made real progress and that we can still succeed in Iraq. Interestingly, Baird was one of the House members who voted against the authorization to use military force in 2002.

ARMY ENGINEERS HARD AT WORK

The United States Central Command has an article about United States Army Engineers titled "Army Engineers work to Connect Afghanistan One Road at a Time". It offers a real insight to the courage of all of our troops, but especially this group, as they try their best to help rebuild Afghanistan. I found it especially interesting since one of my uncles served with the Army Engineers in World War II, helping to rebuild Great Britain.

THE POLITICS OF VICTORY

Redstate has a fascinating blog about Joe Biden's son Beau heading for Iraq. Like all Americans I wish each of our service people God speed, and pray for their safe return. I found the article particularly interesting for the debate over what Senator Biden calls "how we leave Iraq" and what Redstate refers to as how we win in Iraq. I agree with Redstate that winning is the only logical choice we have in Iraq.

MOVE ON IS AT IT AGAIN

Move On has launched another campaign against Republican candidates. They are going to highlight the cost of the Iraq war for individual congressional districts. The article is important reading for all of us. According to CNS NEWS.com MoveOn is being helped in this latest tactic to derail the Iraq war by the National Priorities Project. My thanks to my good friend River West who provided me with this article.

DEALING WITH THE ENEMIES AMONG US

Steve Shippert has a must read article in the National Review about dealing with the terrorists among us.

THE REPUBLICAN PARTY OF FLORIDA

this article was in the Tallahassee Democrat on August 16. It's a really interesting article and has been posted by the Republican Party of Florida on their website. After reading this article, and seeing that Governor Charlie Crist has an approval rating of 70%, it seems pretty clear that the Republican Party is in good shape in the State of Florida. Now we need to work on the other states.

ENCOURAGING POLITICAL NEWS FROM IRAQ

Hugh Hewitt has a good post on the political news from Iraq. Take a look.

BARACK OBAMA - U S TROOPS KILLING CIVILIANS

Barack Obama continues to prove why he is not qualified to be President of the United States. Kudos to Mitt Romney for taking him to task for his latest outrageous comment. Obama said "U.S. troops in Afghanistan are just air raiding villages and killing civilians."

THE VICTORY CAUCUS

The Victory Caucus is looking for help to get their message across. For those of you who believe in our troops and what they are accomplishing, this is a great way to help.

PETRAEUS: TROOP CUTS ARE COMING

The Commanding General in Iraq, General David Petraeus has told reporters that he will propose troop cuts in the coming weeks, but believes that a complete pullout would be unwise.
